Busy Weekend

Since we found out we were expecting, there has been much debate as to what we do about Bedrooms.  We have 3 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bedrooms downstairs.  All of us have been upstairs...but not after this weekend.  We decided that it would be best to move our boys downstair by the playroom.  The were delighted!!! I spent most of last week cleaning and getting ready for the weekend.  I decided I had to let my art room go because it seemed to be the best way to make room.  It was not an easy task...The Art room was "an art room"...a complete disaster!  I was exhausted the day after but very excited about the possibility.  We had not finished the closet yet so that was on our Saturday to do list...Ryan did a great job.  I measured out where I wanted things to go.  We had most of the supplies and we finished it in a day.  I love how it turned out!
We also decided it was time to buy the boys their own dresser...They have been sharing a hand me down one with just 3 drawers (the bottom drawer was broken) and it was not doing the job...They love having their own drawers...and a little more independence...I love that they can find their own clothes and put them away now...
We still need to take out the large bookshelf and put a few pictures on the wall but they have made the change very well...They feel pretty lucky being so close to all their toys...
The Girls will be upstairs...Bekkah has been sleeping in her full bed for the past couple of years.  She has loved her sleigh bed but with the new baby, we needed to convert it back into a crib.  We debated about getting her a twin or having them share bedrooms but 8 years seems to be a big difference in age.  We decided it would be best for them to have their own rooms.  It will also be best for the boys to be downstairs so the baby will not wake them in the middle of the night...Bekkah is a deep sleeper and the boys are light sleepers...
We went with the cutest bedroom set...we figured it would last until she leaves home...isn't that a sad thought...

I love all the little details of this bed!  She said last night that she felt like she was a princess...
and she has already made herself at home...
We were all so excited to pull out Bekkah's old baby bedding.  I have always LOVED it!  When Bekkah was born, we moved in with Ryan's Parents shortly after.  We had a brand new beautiful crib and this lovely bedding set and yet she slept in a pack and play until she was 9 months. She only used it from 9 months until she was 18 months old (when she decided to take a pen to each butterfly)  I packed it away and decided it was time for new bedding.  When I pulled it out this week, the pen marks were still there.  I took some alcohol to it and they are no longer visible.  I was so happy!  It's fun to see the baby's room ready...We cannot wait!

The boys also got to see a "REAL COWBOY" in the alfalfa field this weekend.  The man that changes the sprinklers in the field, decided to ride his horse.  It was fun to wake up to...

Flaming Gorge and Red Canyon Lodge

On Saturday, we decided we wanted to take a trip to Flaming Gorge and Red Canyon Lodge.  It's only about 1 1/2 hours from our home and "I Thought" that we had never been there.  Even after we had a full day, Ryan was still trying to Convince and Remind me that we had.  I still couldn't remember.  Well, come to find out, we did, before we had any children (that says a lot).  He even had Family pictures to prove it.  Now, I remember the pictures, but I vaguely remember the trip. When we went before, We were living in West Jordan, we didn't see the dam, we didn't ride the Green River and we took a total different route to get there. Life has sure changed and I couldn't believe that it was so far from my mind...It made me feel old...Anyways, We had a great trip!  It wasn't a bad drive, the kids were pleasant, the weather was beautiful and there were very few people.  We went a week before it really officially opens up.  We got to enjoy a free tour of Flaming Gorge Dam (not bad compared to the offered $30 tour of the Hoover Dam, which we chose not to go on.)  The Kids each completed a little booklet and at the end, they earned a cool little badge.

The next picture of these fish looks like nothing...these rainbow trout were HUGE. The kids had fun feeding them.  When they tossed in the feed, these fish would just swarm around the food.  It was pretty cool.  The tour guide said that the food stank like dead fish so the kids talked about their stinky hands all the way back to the top...Luckily there was a place to wash our hands...

We went to Red Canyon Lodge and It was beautiful.  I wish that we could have stayed the night...We will plan on it another time...

Dustin was being silly...He was choosing not to stand by Kaden and Bekkah...I love that mischievious little look...

 He eventually gave in...

There were Lots of Birds...the kids enjoyed watching them all flock together and then chasing them away...

We were home by 4 in the afternoon.  We still had enough time so I mowed our lawn while Ryan mowed the duplex lawn.  Ryan so kindly went to the store for me and on his way back, he noticed the Drive Inn Movie was open, so we packed up the van and went to Rio (Cute Show.  The kids loved it).  We could have stayed for the Wimpy Kid 2, but by 10:30, we were all ready to go home.  Even today, I still have remnants of the party in our van...i will get to it...eventually...It was well worth it.

5 Full Boxes of Sweet Memories

After almost 7 years of storing 5 full boxes of baby clothes, I finally went through each one...I really wanted to start making a list of what I may need for our little baby girl...
...I don't believe I will be doing much clothes shopping...
It was so exciting to go through each of these adorable little outfits...It was fun to remember the 4 showers that friends and family so generously gave us...the excitement of finally starting our family after almost 5 years of trying and being told that we would have less than a 10% chance of having children without the assistance of a Dr...the overwhelming joy that each child has brought into our lives...Going through these boxes was a sweet memory of the past 12 years...We sure do love our 3 1/2  little Miracles...My Heart is very Full...The Lord has truly blessed us...I can hardly wait to try these on our baby girl

My very first dress...

This dear sweet lady in our ward, gave me some very bright colorful fabric a little while back and I thought, "What in the world am I going to do with that?"  well, the other day, feeling slightly guilty for not using all that material and seeing so much rain around here, I saw this cute tutorial online and I decided it looked like something I could attempt and not be out a lot of money just in case it didn't turn out.
Bekkah Loved it!
And as soon as she tried it on, she said, "Have you made one for Emma yet?" (Her favorite doll of course)
So I quickly made one for Emma before it was time for dinner...
She was so excited about the dress that she wore it all evening and really wanted to wear it to school the next day.  It looked much cuter with a white cardigan with the bow dangling in the front.
I didn't get a picture but we thought it turned out super cute!
Maybe another time because I am sure that she will wear it again...
Not too bad for my very first dress...

Preschool Graduation #2

Kaden had his last day of Jeri's Preschool Yesterday.  She does such a good job with these kids...They put on a short little program.  We are glad that he had the opportunity the last part of this school year.  It's been a great experience...

Growth

Kaden's Magic Bean has sure grown...Kaden was excited to actually put it in the garden the other day (I was just happy to get it out of my kitchen.  It was starting to take over my cabinets...I just hope it survives the wind...

And I still Love Spring!!!  It's so fun to see the plants come up each year...

And check out these Potatoe Grass Heads!  I forgot how fast they grow...the Kids have Loved it!  I think it's about time to give these little guys a trim...

Field Trip

The other day, Kaden, Dustin and I went to his other Preschool's field trip to the Airport and the Firestation.  It was way fun...although, My battery died after just 2 pictures...I thought this first picture was cute!  This guy had these kids running from plane to plane...Kaden was happy to drag his little brother along...

Preschool Graduation

Today was Kaden's Last Day of  Preschool with The Roosevelt  Mom's Coop...and it was our turn.  We chose to have it at the Ballard Park.  It was fun to get together one last time.  We will miss all these kids!
Kaden and I put together some fun Graduation Caps and some Candy Necklaces.  Since it was our last turn, we had to throw in a craft.  We made Mr. Potato Grass Heads...I told the kids that if they take good care and water their little guys well, they should have a full head of hair ( grass) by the time they start kindergarten.  Can't wait to see!

As fun as it has been, I am exhausted!
After playing at the park, and mowing our Apartment lawn (so THICK, beautiful and green), I am ready to put up my feet and just rest...I had big plans of mowing our own lawn today, vaccuuming, laundry etc... but I think it will just have to wait until tomorrow...

Our little Fluffy Chicks

I love watching their feathers come in...especially this year...they are all so different!  Sadly, Dustin's "Cocoa" didn't make it.  He struggled from the beginning...He was ok with it.  He said, "dats otay. I have daddys"  ...haha...Good thing Ryan was ok with that too...Dustin still wants to call Dady's "Silver" Cocoa.  so the grey ones name is now Cocoa...
