A little Before and After

For those of you who haven't heard, We purchased a home a few months ago in hopes to fix it up and rent it out. This new home has been quite the adventure. My hands are dry and blistered and I am sure that our kids are wondering when we plan to move in. We have learned a lot through the whole process. Here's just a few before and afters...

The Downstairs Rental...

The Bathroom Before...
This is the one room that I didn't take that I should have. There was a lovely Blue Tub and Blue Sink, and Blue Toilet...and lets not forget the gorgeous floral wallpaper and mirror pieces...These pictures were taken after we gutted it out and put in the floor and cabinets...

And After...

Again, there was no kitchen...it's all new...
The Laundry Room...

We separated the laundry room so the downstairs would have one. I loved coloring this door and some shelves green. I thought it needed a little color...

The Laundry Room for the Upstairs Rental (we split it into 2)
Before...

All I can say is Eww...
After...

Ahh...What a relief! We had to pour cement because the people who put the cement slab in didn't make it large enough for a washer and dryer to sit on...What were they thinking? The people who moved in after built a temporary floor that was not water resistant which in turn resulted in a nasty moldy mess...goodbye mold!

The Upstairs Rental

This was actually in really good condition although it required a whole lot of painting as well as a new bathroom, and lots of cleaning...

After...we just added a big mirror

And the kitchen, luckily we didn't have to do much here...

We are very excited to see this project coming to an end. We have a security deposit in hand and renters moving in on Friday....I hope they take good care of our baby!!!

Preschool over the past 3 weeks

Because of various circumstances, I have had Preschool 1 day every week over the past three weeks....For those of you in our little preschool swap, sorry about my failure to report. I am sure that it is also out of order so forgive me...
For Thanks giving, we did Thankful Turkeys. It was cute to see what the kids had to say that they were thankful for...Some couldn't stop...
We also learned about the letter L...
The kids left full having eaten atleast 3 a piece...Don't you love their long L Snake Pretzels?
For snack one day we made houses...Lots of Creativity...

And today, we learned that M is for Merry Christmas...
The kids made Monoprints...Ask them what a monoprint is (just curious) They didn't want to stop and they turned out rather cute! they would make a mighty fine Christmas Card for someone...Sorry if they left with stains on their clothing...We wore aprons, washed our hands, but kids will be kids...

We also made some cute pillows for Christmas. I told them they could give them away as Christmas Presents if they chose...Good Luck stuffing and sewing...it always takes so long to dry...Next time I think we will just finish the pillows beforehand and then do the printing after...There is never enough time...
We really do have the best group children. They make our day!

Ahh...Christmas

I told myself that I was not going to put up the BIG TREE this year...It always takes me forever! Ryan must have sensed my reluctance to do so. Bekkah and I left for a meeting. We came back to Ryan and the boys setting up the beast. The put the whole thing up...Love you boys!!! All we had to do was decorate...That's the fun part! Wherever the kids put up the decorations, that is exactly where they still are...with exception of the ones that Dustin has taken down...

still can't get enough of that carousel...it's got to be our kids favorite!

Deweyville

OUr family spent Thanksgiving in Deweyville. I will post more later but I just had to share these pictures that I took during our morning walk up their mountain (they call it theirs anyways)...I have never taken my camera before. I didn't realize how beautiful the Deweyville mountain really was..

Mission Accomplished...Almost...

2 Quilts...

2 Days...

Does your work area ever look like this?...it will just have to wait for another day...

We don't get to see Grandma and Grandpa nearly enough! But When they do come, the kids get spoiled...Grandpa was determined to get these kids in the water so he bought each of them their own little lifejackets...They had a blast!

Dustin really didn't care for the suit.
Kaden was concerned that it was a girl suit for a boy...Oh well...It didn't last long...
Dustin really preferred the nice warm hottub with Grandma...
We pulled out the video. Bekkah and Kaden had fun jumping into the pull. Way to go Bekkah! Good Jump! She use to be so afraid of the water. And Kaden is always a riot. In the first video, check out those arms...In the second one, he is just so persistent...thanks for the push Grandpa!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for taking time to be with us this weekend! It's been great fun! Tomorrow, we talked them into going to the Lowe's Build and Grow.

Grandma and Grandpa came to play

Although Ryan had a conference this week in Salt Lake, and we always miss him when he is gone, we have been enjoying the company of my parents today. They plan to stay until Saturday. Yeah! It's so nice to have company in this small town...I appreciate their efforts in coming to see us. I know it is not an easy drive but it is so nice to have them here...Thanks Mom and Dad!
